3Quarter Lane is a series of 12 buildings, each one a charming addition to your own miniature village. The buildings come packaged flat with pre-cut chipboard and patterned paper pieces ready for you to assemble and create your own miniature village. True to the 3Quarter Designs brand, these kits give you three quarters — the basics — and you can expand on them using other items from your stash.

Part 6 — Little Wonders Toy Emporium is the most playful stop on the 3Quarter Lane. This red brick toy shop features a colourful toy train running along the shopfront awning, alphabet number blocks on the rooftop, and a friendly teddy bear out front. The jigsaw-shaped base board is a chalk-art playground scene complete with a maze, hopscotch, and noughts and crosses. A green dragon kicking a soccer ball decorates the side wall, and the shop windows are packed with toys. Finished store is 9cm wide by 9.5cm tall by 7cm deep. Each base board has a jigsaw-type shape so they connect together — but if you're not doing the whole series, you can also cut this off to have a stand-alone piece.

Make It Your Own

This is where the fun begins! Here are some ideas to take your Little Wonders Toy Emporium to the next level:

  • Add tiny toy die-cuts or stickers to the shop windows for a fully stocked display
  • Use fine green flock or turf on the base board around the playground area
  • Ink or distress the brick walls for an aged, vintage toy shop feel
  • Add a small flag or banner to the rooftop between the number blocks
  • Pop a tiny rubber duck or rocking horse die-cut in the shop window display
  • Use the included A4 papers to make a mini album to sit inside the shop
